Beauty…Fairies…Magic

I’ve only been there once but it was magical. At first sight I was speechless. I felt so peaceful, like all my worries just disappeared. It’s not far from my school; a 10 -15 minute walk at most. It was my 7th or 8th grade year and I went with two of my friends; and I had stayed after to go hang out. I don’t remember how or why we decided to go there. But I found myself being lead from the school to the river. It’s one of the times with friends I’ll never forget. They call it The Fairy Pond. Its back in a little patch of woods by the river; only about 10 ft wide. A pond with water so blue it looks as if out of a story book. It seems to have no bottom; it goes on forever. The three foot waterfall pours into the pond so elegantly, its breath taking. Its sides are of rocks and shore of dirt. This is where ferns grow, birds sing, and lighting bugs flourish; looking like small fairies flying. Here there are no judgmental eyes, no boundaries to fall into; to cooperate with, no molds to form to, here you can be free. This is mine and a select few’s paradise, our sanctuary, a place of pure ecstasy, and beauty. At Fairy Pond time stays still; frozen. I was there for an hour at most but it felt like a life time. This is my place; here I have no boundaries, limits, or rules. My place of freedom, my fairytale.
